Shopping Tips

  • **Go mid-week first:** Wednesday and Thursday visits often yield the freshest newly donated inventory, since the store reopens after a weekend and Monday–Tuesday closure with restocked shelves.
  • **Check for community center connections:** As a nonprofit operation, staff and volunteers may be aware of upcoming donation drops or special sales — don't hesitate to ask.
  • **Bring cash as backup:** Small community thrift stores in towns like Shady Cove sometimes have limited card processing options, so having cash on hand ensures you never miss a great find.
  • **Think seasonally:** Locals donate gear that matches the Upper Rogue lifestyle — fishing equipment, outdoor clothing, and camping items tend to surface here more than at urban thrift stores.
  • **Visit regularly:** With a compact shopping window of just four days a week and a small-town donor pool, inventory turns over fast. Making the Upper Rogue Community Center Thrift Store a weekly habit is the best way to score the real gems.
